Google Pixel Watch Matte Black with Obsidian Active Band
*Almost* Amazing

I've had the watch for about a week now. I've been using it fairly casually, mainly for fashion/time and general smart watch features.
It is a very stylish watch, All glass round top, light weight and comfortable to wear. The personalisation options are great.
Coming from an older Fitbit Ionic, it is a massive step up in performance and functionality and the responsiveness of the touch screen is good.
At home I use google assistant voice commands a lot, having the voice assistant button on the watch is super helpful and I don't find myself having to repeat like I do sometimes if I have to shout across the kitchen. Eg. This works great for adding items to my shopping list.
The watch definitely has all the hallmarks of a first gen device. The software is a bit buggy, (but firmware updates have already improved my experience). I have had instances where notifications stopped coming through until I restarted the watch.
The weirdest thing for me is that it is a device with an identity crisis. It is a Google Pixel watch but in reality it is mostly a fitbit device. I think for version 2, google needs to pick a lane. In the end I needed to install 2 separate apps to use the watch.
I feel a google "Pixel" watch should NOT require a premium fitbit subscription to activate all of its features.
Fitbit premium is an expensive pay-wall blocking additional functionality and analytics. $15 a month or $120 a year for Scores related to Sleep, stress and readiness although you do get more advanced metrics, workouts and mindfulness sessions which are a nice feature for those looking for a bit more guidance.
Battery life is extremely disappointing, even when not exercising, I'm down to ~<10% by 8pm after sleep tracking and light use throughout the day.
There is also no usb-c power adapter in the box which you will need to charge the watch. The included charging puck (no power adapter included) using my phone charger does bring the watch back to full fairly quickly (30-60 mins) so if you put it on charge when you get home, or whilst relaxing in the evening, Then you're good to go for the night.
I do enjoy the watch and it has definitely left me excited for what google might produce next. (once they iron out the wrinkles and identity crisis).
tldr:
+stylish
+swappable bands
+best android smart watch?
+bully your fitbit friends that you did more steps
-I don't want to pay $15 a month for fitbit premium
--less than 1 day of battery will be a dealbreaker for most
